Title: FZS Band Booster Meeting (Meeting Minutes)

Officers present: Pat Hunt – President, Cheri Shultz – Vice President of Membership, Kerry Compton – Vice President of Fund Raising, Eric Giering – Treasure, Tammy Weidinger – Secretary
*Introductions of members and the board.
*Secretary’s report was submitted and approved.
*Treasure’s report was submitted.
*Fund Raiser:
· The second recycling box was sent in. The company has received the first one but the processing takes a while.
· Pizza and Butterbraids sales will occur from Oct. 19-30. Delivery will be on November 19, in time of the Thanksgiving holidays. Information will be sent home with your child so please look for it.
*Old Business
· Belleville East – First Place, Best Visual, Best Music
· Sullivan – Third Place
· McKendree – Second Place, Best Percussion
· Golf Cart is working.
· Thank you to all the students, Mr. Tucker, Mrs. Koets, Parent Helpers and all the Parents!
*New Business
· Chairman Review:

Social/Senior Night – Diane Blake (newly assigned tonight)
Food Committee – Amy Schnuriger
Trivia Night – Steven Blake
· Update on Props – We hope to finish the canvas that hides the train on October 15 from 6-9. If you would like to help, please show up in paint clothes.
· Spaghetti Factory/GSL – We have reservations for 2:00 on Saturday, October 24. After our performance and pictures, we will walk over to enjoy a quiet meal. The cost is $12 for nonband members and $5 for band members. Money and count is due by October 21.
· Homecoming, October 10 – Call time for the parade is 7:30. Parade starts at 9 from Dierbergs and will proceed down Hwy 79 to Mexico and to FZS High School. Game call time will be 12:00pm and we might do the pregame.
· Brass Choir – February 12 and 13, 2010 Michael Krueger is in charge.
Open to all HS band students and musical adults. No fee at this time. It will consist of a practice on February 12 from 4 to 9. Practice will continue on February 13 from 9-12, and 1-5 (approximately). Performance will be at 6:30 in the evening of the 13th. Visit web page:zumwaltbrassandpercussionfestival.net. Donations are always welcomed.
· Francis Howell Competition is on October 17. Schedule is not yet available.
· Greater St. Louis (GSL) is on October 24. Tickets will be available shortly. Please buy from the school to help the school try to win a prize. More information will follow.
· October 30 is the last football game, Senior Night, and Halloween dress-up. The parents will sponsor a costume contest.
· Garage Sale!!!!! – Mrs. Koets went through the band closet to store new uniforms and found many old shirts, car signs, and mini flashlights. Please let Cherry Schultz know if you are interested.
*Tucker’s Corner
· November 14 will be a Jazz Concert with/at Lindenwood University.
· GSL ticket information will be coming soon.
· Students have the chance to “earn” a letter for band. Discussion was made that they do so much work in marching season, it seems they earn it with marching.
*Next meeting will be on Nov. 12 at 6:00 (before the concert in auditorium) due to try outs on the 2nd .
